Owners, Hitoshi and Mandy Yuhara wanted to create an environment to bring together the community through gatherings of people sharing meals. Shiku Sushi Bar was the perfect setting to accomplish this goal. Shiku, which means “the people you share a meal with” and refers to family and community, was a perfect name for a family owned restaurant in the heart of La Jolla, where our team and community are like family to us.
At Shiku Sushi Bar, we source some of the freshest and sustainable fish from around the world. We have fish caught from Japan and sent overnight, to local fish caught and brought straight to your table. We pride ourselves in doing our research and serving you the best quality fish, with great sake, wine and beer selections, not found in many sushi restaurants.
